MEMORIES OF PERTH

Next we visit the Jewel Cave for a 1 hour guide tour of this newly discovered spectacular underground feature. The Jewel caves seem to defy nature and dwarf those who enter its lofty chambers. Long limestone straws hang on the ceiling of the cave. Limestone here take on many different shapes, size and color. Can you spot a camel in the photo below? We also found a rare fossil of the Tasmanian tiger at the lower levels of the cave.

Reading from a brochure, I learnt that there are many caves located around the Margaret Rivers. The caves include Lake cave, Mammoth cave, Moondyne cave and last but not least, the Jewel cave.
