We left the City Of Perth at
7:45 am. Traveling
south along the coastal sandplains we pause in Mandurah for a look at what
is termed “resort style residential living”. According to our tour
guide Norman, housing here cost between 300 thousand to 1 million
Australian dollars. Continuing on, we stop at Dolphin Beach in Bunbury
before proceeding through the worlds last remaining Tuart forest en route
to Margaret River for lunch.
Continuing south we visit the rugged and most south westerly point on the Australian landscape - Cape Leeuwin. Here, we can see the Indian ocean meet with the southern ocean. It's easy to tell apart the Indian ocean and the southern ocean. Strong waves can be seen in the Indian ocean, while the southern ocean is more calm. According to our guide, whales are often seen playing in the bay just meters from the shore. Unfortunately, we were not lucky enough to see one. |
